Overview
In this guide, we will be going over what you should be expecting when you start playing the game and what end game is suppose to look like. This game is extremely beginner friendly and they give you a lot of free units along the way. You can also check out the ruby farming guide for resources.
FYI, do not use your selector tickets for the following fighters since they will be given to you over the course of the month provided you complete the welcome event and character festival missions daily. You will also be getting Mai and Kyo’s ultimate cards, so no need to pick them with your special card selector after you complete the battle card growth mission.
A lot of people are not aware of this and end up getting dupes, which is still okay since you get the specific fighter souls to limit break them to higher levels.
Mature 96 is extremely useful for PvE content due to her bleed, which deals damage over time when she deals a critical hit. She is viable for the Epic Quests, especially on Epic Quest Chapter 3-6 and 3-12, where the boss regenerate some health every hit you make.
Levels 1-70
At the start of this game, you will level up very quickly. You are going to get a lot of rubies, upgradable items and AP. I highly suggest you follow along the growth mission as you get a ton of goodies. Try to save all your bonus AP by not collecting them since you will be “wasting them” as you recharge 1 AP per 2 minutes.
Your AP also recharges to full when you level up and any leftover AP you had prior will be wasted. It might not seem to matter, but it will later on as past level 70+, leveling slows down and you can use this extra AP you didn’t claim from event rewards will help you keep progressing without having to wait.
It is not necessary to conserve AP like this but it helps as a F2P player. Here is the list of items you can get during your early levels.

Mai 94 is actually quite decent for a 4 star unit and if you lack a green unit, she can be a temporary sub until end game. In fact, she can be used to complete the under cost 45 epic quest missions. So it is not a bad choice to invest in her. Alternatively, you can sell all her souls away to buy the ones you want in the exchange shop.

Story 96 is where you will take on Goenitz, the first legitimate boss that will be harder than the previous bosses.
He also has some sneaky off screen attacks and can grab you as well, so blocking isn’t always effective. Taking a few hits usually mean you won’t complete the “avoid getting hit X times” objective, since his attacks are multi-hits.

[Epic] Play the Epic Quest 1 Time | Friendship Point | 1000 |
Reward | Mai Special Card | 1 |
Orochi from Story 97 will be a tough cookie to beat if you have been steam rolling the other bosses. He has a ranged attack where it can hit you while he is off screen. His movements are also a bit random and therefore not as predictable.
Here is a run of Orochi on expert mode by Baphomet:
Story mode 98 is where the difficulty will spike as the bosses are getting harder and has more hit points. Although Omega Rugal isn’t as hard as Orochi, he is still quite a threat, but you can kite him around easily. Also, if your characters are not keeping up with the combat power, your characters will die in auto mode. Recommended levels pass this point would be at least level 75+ from your main fighter. Element advantage really helps here.
Upgrading your battle cards and equipping them to your main fighter is also recommended.

I suggest picking the cooldown reduction cards as it is the best option cards you can have for any character. It is versatile and every character will benefit from lower cooldowns.
Having lower cooldown means more skill damage over time and it gives you more flexibility on chaining more combos and some characters can also do long juggles against bosses. Some examples are Mai 95, Goenitz 96, Orochi Leona 97, Shermie 97 and Blue Mary 97.
Mai 95 Juggle Setup
Mai 95 has -0.6s base skill cooldown in the core + has an excellent striker option in Yuri 95 (-2s cooldown). With King 95 as the leader which reduces her cooldown by another 1.5s and the 2 cooldown cards maxed, she gets up to a total of -5.9s cooldown. With that, she can juggle efficiently.
Goenitz 96 Juggle Setup
The requirements are quite low as you only need the cooldown cards of Unreal Peace or Strategic Retreat.
Blue Mary 97 Juggle Setup
This setup costs way more. You need Terry 97 as striker for the -2s cooldown, then Crazy Envy Mary (free from Epic Quest) as the leader for the 30% attack for females and -0.8s base skill cooldown. You can only pull Terry 97 and Blue Mary 97 from the secret shop after completing story mode 97.
Levels 71-100
At this level, with all the growth mission rewards and leveling, you should have 1 or 2 characters that are limit broken at 70+ and completed normal story mode. The hardest bosses in the game are definitely Orochi from 97 and Goenitz from 96. They are less predictable than Omega Rugal of 98.
You can also start attempting Epic Quest 0 and complete the first episode against Crazy Envy Mary. She is the easiest boss without needing any additional buffs. Crazy Envy Mary has a great leader skill for female fighters that gives 30% attack and 0.8 second skill cooldown decrease.
Upon hitting player level 100, you will get the option to buy the rank 100 package(1400 rubies), which I highly recommend.
Here you can pick up the second option cooldown card, which allows your main fighter to have faster skill cycling and therefore more damage over time, which will be vital in Epic Quest fights.
As for the set option battle card, I would recommend Favorite Thing Type set for the bonus attack upon critical hit for more damage output.
And ideally, you want to have the special skill card for your favorite fighter to further improve their stats.
Levels 100+
Upon getting the required battle cards to make your strongest fighter decked out with the highest combat power possible, it is time to farm and improve the battle cards and take on the latter parts of the Epic Quest.
This is where you start focusing on building different color teams to start tackling the Epic Quest as it requires a few things:
- A character that can deal damage over time
- You need a strong Blue, Yellow and Green fighter
- Consistent farming for epic buffs (it makes a huge difference)
You also want to farm the daily missions for the Epic Quest as it gives you 100 attack, defense and hp buff points per chapter. You are going to need it be able to challenge each subsequent chapter as the bosses hits hard and you will not be able to do it easily without at least some extra stats.
The way Epic Quests work is that each chapter’s enemies have extra stats and it will require to at least farm up to their level to make them easier to defeat. Below is a recommended baseline of what you should be at in order to clear the chapter with ease:
- Crazy Envy Mary – Level 1
- Endless Greed Rugal – Level 5
- Hidden Wrath Chizuru – Level 15
- Mecha Goenitz – Level 20-25
- Boss Blue Envy Mary – Level 25-28
- Boss Endless Greed Rugal – Level 28-30
- Boss Hidden Wrath Chizuru – Level 31-35
- Boss Mecha Goenitz – level 35-40+
You can do it at much lower levels, but it requires skills, focus and dedication.
After you grind to epic buff level 40+, everything will become easier to manage. There are a few fighters that can make certain boss fights a lot easier. Any fighter with damage over time will be able to deal good damage.
Some key units are (excluding festival characters):
The top boss killer due to his leader skill that gives 125% of attack power of burn damage for every attack Kyo or his ally makes. However, he can only provide this for balanced fighters, so if you went with attack type fighters early on, you will need to build a balanced fighter to take advantage of it.
He literally helps you shave a lot of time off against big bosses and therefore saving you time on farming for epic buffs.
She makes chapter boss 3-6, 3-12 and final boss 5-3 a lot easier to manage due to her bleeds. She is free, so you definitely want to invest in her when her green element festival mission arrives on week 4.
Both Mai 95 and Kyo 97 has burn on their skill 3, with Mai being the more popular option. Andy Bogard 98 also has bleed and is a decent green fighter, but Mature 96 has that covered.
Another F2P option for yellow element is:
Given for free and it will help against Rugal and Mecha Goenitz.
From here on, it is an end game grind. Episode 1 will be released and the buffs reset but doing the Episode 0 missions will give you some head start for buffs in Episode 1.
Level 200
At level 200, you get a rank 200 bonus package you can buy for 2000 rubies. It gives 100 stat capsules you can select, 100 rainbow souls and 200 skip tickets. Not really worth it in my opinion, but if you want to limit break a unit and get them to max level, it will be a fast way to do so.
Tips for Leveling Quickly
When it comes to gaining levels to 100, you want to:
- Conserve AP by not using rewarded AP when close to leveling up
- Farm food for affinity on expert story mode of your fighters for the best experience per AP (Expert Story Mode 96-98, anywhere from 250-360 per run)
If you are close to leveling up and you want to use up all your remaining AP, you can:
- Use 10 skip tickets to do Battle Card Dungeon/Evolution Dungeon at 40 AP each, it will consume 400 AP before it levels up
- Do fighter soul events on normal mode for 30 AP each (usually normal mode exp ranges from 30-100)
There you have it folks. This is a long one. Hope it helps!
