OVERVIEW

Overview

Leona comes in with a great attack pool of 6564 with an additional attack boost from her cores. Her HP and DEF surprisingly higher then average then one would think. Her leader skill is a rainbow leader skill with 30% attack power and 10% Critical rate up for Balanced/Technical fighters (ones with the target reticule on their circle icons)

Core

Leona comes with a pretty decent passive set, with Penetration increase (a hard to find core back then) along with HP/ATK up. She comes with a Blow-type skill enhancement but that only applies to two of her attacks. She comes with a combo duration time increase buff, but that’s really just minimal in my opinion due to how she isn’t really as multi-hit besides her projectile.

Her second passive is pretty decent with a 3.7% Heal on crit. It’s not really out-there heal like Orochi or Genjuro’s, but it’s definitely much better then 1.7%. Her first passive completely reduces all her cooldowns by 0.6 seconds. This will be huge later on.

Skills

If there is a way to describe her skills: Hits hard, low cooldowns.
Leona’s first skill is a dashing slash that follows up with a launch. It’s pretty strong, boasting a 810% multiplier and having 10.6 seconds of cooldown time. However, it LOVES to miss a lot in PvE… Especially with aerial targets or targets against the wall.
It now has Super Armor and Guard disable, which makes it a solid tool for PvP. Leona’s second skill has her create a stationary fireball. It has a startup animation, but it will appear most of the time even if Leona is hit. It is multi-hit and hits rapidly. It’s cooldown is 10.5 seconds and it does pretty good damage (611%). It causes [Electric Shock] now, which adds to how the skill can act as a bigger buffer between the enemy and her.
Leona’s third skill is almost like the first skill. The skill grounds enemies when it hits, dealing 809% damage. Leona gains an attack and critical hit rate buff for 5 seconds from this, making this skill the necessary connecting combo skill for a finisher. It has a cooldown of 8.5 seconds. Mark that down. Her rework has made her MUCH, much better.

What if I told you that you can reduce cooldown by 5-6 seconds?

Let’s break it down.

Leader skills: 97 Joe: -1.5 Second leader skill for balanced Hijikata (Gintama): +25% Attack, -1 second leader skill for balanced Jealousy Blue Mary (Epic Quest): -0.8 Second Leader Skill, +30% Attack for women

Cards: Maxima or Kula/K’ option cards: -1.9 seconds each, -3.8 seconds total. So if we combine -1.6/3 seconds with -3.8 seconds… We get -5.4/6.8 seconds on her cooldown. So her third skill would have the cooldown of 3.1/1.7 seconds.

That means that you can constantly be using skills all the time as long as you do not drop the combo. Amazing, right? Well, it is. This is why Orochi Leona dominated DPS charts for a Very. Long. Time.

Orochi Leona’s Striker Skill is her first skill. It deals a surprising 431% attack value but also has the accuracy of a goddamn malfunctioning WWII rifle. Her striker/main links are also equally as bad as Iori’s. Orochi Leona gets outdated thanks to Original Zero later, who takes over her role of not only damage but also providing more affects then her.

Conclusion

She has overtaken Orochi Iori thanks to her rework, however. She’s a much better character in PvP now thanks to some of the buffs on her damage, which makes her absurdly powerful.
