LEADER SKILL
OVERVIEW
Overview
Our first FES Seasonal! Let’s see how she is! First thing to talk about her is that her leader skill is like Envy Mary’s, where it affects all females. This one increases attack by 60% and decreases hp by 10%. S
o it is, in all affects, a female-only Orochi Iori effect. This opens so many room to possible insane compositions in PvP as we get more unique FES characters. Her scary part in PvP is both her basic features: Her Gravity and her normal attack.
Her normal attack is probably the strangest normal attack string in the game. But the reason isn’t relaunch capabilities or heavy hitstun. It’s the effect her first hit has: Ability to hit grounded enemies. You can almost effectively attach the ball swing on her first normal attack to ANY hits, whether it be striker hits or anything else. It’s almost scary.
Her second part is her gravity. Despite her size, Chang is as heavy as other Chang variants. Meaning she will not be as easy to combo because she will just drop to the ground like a boulder. The only reliable way of combo’ing her is by taking either skills that immediately makes her stand up from the ground/air or taking fireball skills like Kyo’s that launch her up.
Core
Chang’s core abilities are pretty great for FES. Increase damage dealt to yellow/red/blue enemies, crit damage increase and attack power increase. It’s not amazing, but it’s definitely not bad. Her two other unique cores, though, are pretty crazy. First one gives her active skills a 40% chance to inflict stun to a enemy for 2 seconds when stun is disabled.
This means Chang can inflict stun ANYTIME as long as the opponent is not stunned as of now. This means: All her skills have a 40% chance to stun, and she still have 3 other effects. … Remember when I said her first normal attack hits grounded enemies? Guess what: If you hit a stunned enemy, they get up into standing stun position. Which means… You got a free normal string.
Her second unique core is an exact copy of Orochi Iori’s core. It completely resets all skill cooldowns to 0 when Chang uses her Desperation/Finishing skills. That’s never a bad unique core to have in PvE.
Skills
As if Chang wasn’t scary enough, her multipliers and her cooldowns are very consistent (and good). ~11 seconds cooldown and ~700-800% multipliers. First skill is just a giant slam down that grounds enemies. This hits grounded enemies and gives her a 42% Defense to Attack conversion buff for 8 seconds when Chang uses active skills.
However, you will most likely use this skill as the finishing attack more then the initial attack for its properties. Second skill is just a spinning chain ball attack that has two properties: One, it activates super armor. Two: Chang can use this when under attack as long as she is not downed.
You heard me. So this makes Chang incredibly unsafe to attack when she’s not only guarding, but also getting attacked. This only happens as long as Chang is in hitstun animation, so she cannot get past Grabs as long as the grab doesn’t end with her getting pummeled. Third skill is a extremely fast slide that increases Chang’s defense by 35% for 10 seconds. It’s the weakest only for its simplicity, but can be used to combo enemies on the floor. … Did I say her skills are crazy? They’re crazy.
Chang’s striker skill has her stunning everyone for 1.7 seconds just like Yashiro, it’s pretty standard. However, her striker links are crazy. The first one, with Chang 94, she gains 1 second of decreased cooldown. This already puts her in a giant advantage over her peers as she starts with almost 10 seconds cooldown instead of 11 seconds.
This can be further brought down lower and lower. Her second link with Christmas Chang gives her a 15% defense to attack conversion 24/7 and gives her 1% power gauge regeneration per second. Equally nuts as her desperation/finisher skill is also great. Chang, for a seasonal, is ridiculous through and through in PvP. She might not be the “big 5+1”, but she’s ridiculous enough that in the hands of a live PvP person, she can utterly wreck your shit regardless if whether you have invincibility or not.
Conclusion
Her ironically fast mobility and cooldowns along with her crazily strong cores makes her a well oiled PvP machine that will probably be the “next best thing” for live PvP choices.
